Nahid Ali
Nahid is a qualified chartered accountant with 6 years professional experience with BDO based in Auckland.
He joined BDO as a graduate in 2006 and rose to the position of Assistant Manager at the time of his departure in March 2012 (foregoing promotion in the process). While with the firm, he gained in-depth exposure to the routines of financial accounts preparation and taxation compliance (company tax, FBT, GST and PAYE) across a broad range of clients. He built quickly upon this experience and was soon offering advisory services in such areas as payroll; management accounting; planning, budgeting & forecasting; and taxation advice & planning.
Clients Nahid worked for are numerous and come from a cross-section of New Zealand industry - manufacturing, FMCG, agriculture, property and retail. GAS was one of these clients and when an opportunity presented itself, the decision to transition into his current role was a logical one and one quickly agreed to by all involved.
Nahid has already re-organised the structure and processes within the GAS Head Office finance function and is now turning his attention to other operational process and efficiency issues and to assuming an ever more strategic role within the Senior Management Team.
