Andrew Bowie
Andrew has 25 years of cross-functional management experience in a variety of positions in a number of different industries (including hospitality, retail, and IT).
Andrew worked with Bass Retail in the UK in several roles running bars and restaurants and subsequently coaching and training managers to National Standards. His eye for business process and risk management opened opportunity for him to support the acquisition of 500 outlets and subsequently the disposal of another 500.
On moving to New Zealand in 2003, Andrew ran a retail Home Store for Farmers Trading Company before commencing his first stint with GAS as a Regional Manager. During his two years with the company the business grew from 36 to 78 retail sites and he personally managed the conversion projects for 15 of them.
He moved to Sydney in 2005, where he was able to indulge a passion for applying technology in a business environment with Espreon Property Services (now SAI Global). He worked first as Operations Manager looking after a team of 85 and later as Product & Systems Support Manager responsible for the infrastructure and software development teams.
Returning to New Zealand in January 2011, Andrew rejoined GAS on a short-term contract as Business Analyst. This role was made permanent in April 2011 when he was appointed Business Development Manager and he has recently transitioned to Business Improvement.
